UCI BioSci Social Media

I managed the UCI BioSci Social Media accounts from March 2020 to August 2021. The start of the pandemic and the lack of in-person events encouraged our marketing team to get creative with our digital content. Check out some of my favorite posts below!

My Favorite Posts

Posts were created with Canva, Illustrator, and/or Photoshop.

Donuts with the Dean

This is a quarterly event and an excellent opportunity for undergraduate BioSci students to hang out with the Dean and meet an expert in the field of biology. For this event, I focus on making the posts more fun, vibrant and lighthearted since this event is geared toward students. Take a look at the landing page I made for the event!

#IamUCIBioSci

Highlighting the alumni, staff, faculty, and students affiliated with UCI BioSci helps build a sense of community. Our team interviewed people in UCI BioSci to tell their stories and highlight their accomplishments. I created a social media campaign to highlight each interviewee and built a webpage to spotlight them.

Podcast Promotion

The research from UCI BioSci’s world-renowned faculty often makes the news. Our team made a special effort to feature these stories on social media whenever possible and the website. Professor Briscoe was featured on a podcast about biases in research.

COVID-19 News Feature

When the pandemic emerged in full force, many faculty began studying the virus and were featured heavily in the news. Professor Buchmeier was quoted in the Washington post about COVID-19 variants.

Dean’s Distinguished Lecture

The UCI BioSci Dean’s Distinguished Lecture Series features UCI BioSci faculty from the four departments. As events became virtual during the pandemic, our team assessed our marketing strategies and elevated our digital content, making it more engaging and creative. I also built this landing page for the event to generate excitement.

Winter Wonderland

I believe in recycling core designs and repurposing them in new posts, banners, and illustrations to create a refreshed design. The McGaugh Hall building was a design I made as a stand-alone illustration, and our team has created a library of graphics that we can incorapte into UCI BioSci’s Digital marketing.
